How pip value works on NZD/CAD
One pip on NZD/CAD is a price move of 0.0001. Its cash value is not fixed – it scales with how many units of New Zealand Dollar you trade. Multiply your lot size by the contract size to get units (a standard lot is 100,000), then multiply the pip size by those units to get the pip value in the quote currency, CAD. If your account is held in CAD that figure is final; otherwise convert it at the CAD→account rate.
Worked example
Trading one standard lot of NZD/CAD (100,000 units) makes a single pip worth 10 CAD; ten pips are 100 CAD. A mini lot (10,000 units) is 1 CAD per pip and a micro lot (1,000 units) is 0.1 CAD. For an account in another currency, multiply by the CAD→account exchange rate (the calculator does this for you).
