How pip value works on AUD/USD
One pip on AUD/USD is a price move of 0.0001. Its cash value is not fixed – it scales with how many units of Australian Dollar you trade. Multiply your lot size by the contract size to get units (a standard lot is 100,000), then multiply the pip size by those units to get the pip value in the quote currency, USD. If your account is held in USD that figure is final; otherwise convert it at the USD→account rate.
Worked example
Trading one standard lot of AUD/USD (100,000 units) makes a single pip worth 10 USD; ten pips are 100 USD. A mini lot (10,000 units) is 1 USD per pip and a micro lot (1,000 units) is 0.1 USD. Because AUD/USD is quoted in USD, those figures already are your pip value for a USD account.
