Regulation & safety

Broker License

Regulatory authorisation for a specified legal entity to carry out specified activities. Verify its status, permissions, website and contact details in the regulator’s own register, including warnings about impersonation. A licence is not a guarantee of returns, and another company under the same brand may have different permissions and protections.
Example.

A site shows a real authorisation number, but its domain and telephone differ from the register. It may impersonate a legitimate firm. Use official-register contact details rather than verifying through an advertising link.

Entity and permissions

Compare legal name, status, number, permitted activities and conditions. Commercial, tax or technology registration is not automatically an investment-services licence. Group companies can have different permissions.

Client country and product

Domestic authorisation does not permit unrestricted worldwide offerings. Check required cross-border notification or permission, client category and instrument. An overseas customer does not automatically remove local restrictions.

Protection and current status

Authorisation guarantees neither profitability nor solvency. Segregation, balance protection and compensation have different scopes. Check warnings and status changes too; record the date and official source.

FAQ

Is a genuine licence number enough?

No. An impersonator can copy it; match the domain, contacts and contracting entity.

Does every licence cover my CFDs?

No. Permissions have defined activities and products, and local restrictions may also apply.
