KNF (Komisja Nadzoru Finansowego)

The Polish Financial Supervision Authority, which supervises financial-market participants within its remit in Poland. For a broker, verify the actual legal entity, permissions and applicable national product-intervention rules. Client categories and protections can differ; neither a licence nor client-money safeguards protect against ordinary trading losses.
Example.

A Polish customer contracts with an authorised firm in another EU state. Absence of a Polish licence does not itself prove illegality: check home-state authorisation and relevant service notification. Absence from a warning list does not prove authorisation either.

What to verify

Identify the contracting entity and appropriate register or list. KNF publishes participant and warning information within its remit. Distinguish authorisation, notification and ordinary business registration.

Polish retail CFDs

KNF's national intervention includes particular conditions for experienced retail clients. This Polish category differs from professional status. Entity, residence, product and category determine relevant requirements.

Protection limits

Supervision does not approve a strategy's profitability. Deposit protection, investor compensation, segregation and balance protection have different purposes. For disputes, check the agreement, complaint procedure and responsible authority.
